(October 4th - January 19th) Uberlândia, Brazil
As we mentioned in the previous letter, our time after the International Conference in Thailand was dedicated to take care of medical and documentation needs, other than of course, the blessing of seeing our loved ones again. Particularly, Noemi had to go through a small surgical procedure for the removal of a cyst, and Vivi had the shots of some vaccines she was missing. We are thankful for all the prayers over this particular time. It was very challenging to financially cover all the expenses, we had to make installments of most treatments, but we continue to trust in God's provision.
We also had many opportunities to share our project at some churches and meetings. We are grateful to the Pastors and Leaders for the invitation and for how well we were received. We praise the Lord for some new partners who decided to walk with us in the next season.
We left Uberlândia on January 19th. We are so grateful for the time we spent in the city with our family, friends and churches. We also had 2 days in Campinas with our dear friends from our Bible School days. It was great to see them again even if so quickly. We had the joy of introducing Vivi and she loved meeting everyone!
We have arrived at our first stop of the year! As we take the first steps into the challenge of an itinerant ministry, our agenda starts to build with requests and opportunities from different countries.
Since the Conference last September, the Mexican team has been really excited and proposed that our first months of the year should be spent in the country. We have been so well received by our SM Family and already have some interesting challenges arising for Youth Mobilization. While we are here, we intend to help with the pilot of Youth Kairos in Spanish and also with TUSFY (in English until the translation is complete).
Join us in prayer for the translation of the youth courses, both into Spanish and Portuguese. Right now, there is a special need to raise 400 USD to complete the dubbing of TUSFY in both languages. This amount will enable the teams to dub the video using AI Tech, which will decrease significantly the time before the course is available, and allow young mobilizers (including us!) to start using the tool while working on producing their own videos long-term.
If you would like to partner in this by praying and contributing with any amount, please contact me at noemimarques@simplymobilizing.com and I will send you different ways to transfer the support.
We are excited to let you know that although our schedule for the year is not yet fully booked, we already have some key opportunities in place:
In May, we will be attending the Regional Conference in Finland. We intend to stay in southern Europe from May until July with a couple of goals: help the Spanish team pilot TUSFY in Spain, attend two youth conferences in Sweden, launch TUSFY in Portuguese in Portugal and help the regional team grow the youth mobilization movement by mentoring and getting to know the young mobilizers there.
In August, we received the invitation to spend the month in Mozambique launching TUSFY and providing NCT training for a newly formed team lead by Claire Weddel. We are so excited for this opportunity as it has been a long dream of ours to help them since we have the common language (Portuguese). We still do not have confirmation of this particular trip as it would require us to raise 3,000USD to purchase the flights, which we currently do not have.
For Vivian's health and growth. For her adaptation to all the traveling and itinerant ministry lifestyle.
For 2024, for all the countries and teams that will participate in this journey, especially the young people.
For financial resources to make it possible. We still need 1,000 USD between now and March to make ends meet.
Pray for the raise of the 400 USD our teams need to dub the videos in Portuguese and Spanish.
Pray for the possibility of including Mozambique in our journey for the month of august. Specially for the support of 3,000 USD we need to travel there.
